WASHINGTON, D.C., October 16, 2017 – Allison Bender, an information security and incident response lawyer formerly with Hogan Lovells and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, has joined ZwillGen as Counsel in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.
Having served as primary operational legal counsel for the federal response to the Heartbleed vulnerability, the USIS-KeyPoint data breach, and the Healthcare.gov data breach, Allison brings to ZwillGen her extensive background in incident response, transactions, and information sharing. Allison has also served as Chief Negotiator for the U.S. government on nine legally binding international agreements and spent six years at DHS negotiating complex, multimillion dollar research and development agreements in emerging science and technology areas.
“Allison is a great addition to our information security team,” said Marc Zwillinger, Founder and Managing Member. “Not only has she managed over 80 incident response efforts and conducted large-scale information security assessments, but at DHS she was the chair of the interagency Automated Indicator Sharing Privacy & Compliance Working Group and can help our clients navigate the complex areas of cooperation, engagement, and information sharing with the federal government.”
At ZwillGen, Allison will draw from her roots in government, national security, and R&D to help clients with legal issues associated with emerging technologies and aid clients in strategically managing legal, financial, and reputational cybersecurity risks. “I am thrilled to be joining ZwillGen’s exceptional information security team. Companies are looking for strategies to manage and mitigate risk in this area. The firm has a great reputation for innovation and being highly responsive to client needs, which is exactly what companies want from counsel during the acute crisis of incident response. I look forward to building upon ZwillGen’s existing expertise in this area and adding value over the long term by helping clients mature from reactivity to resiliency.”
