Lauren Coble assists companies navigating the complex national and international privacy landscape, providing guidance on all aspects of data collection and use. She has experience advising on issues in a variety of contexts, including online advertising and marketing, tracking technologies, and consent frameworks.

Lauren has counseled companies on all aspects of privacy compliance, from drafting privacy policies to navigating the risks associated with novel uses of first-party data. She has experience counseling on the privacy implications of marketing technologies and clean room usage and has aided clients in mitigating risks associated with privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA). She is also well-versed in negotiating Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and related privacy provisions in vendor contracts, and has extensive experience advising on other areas of consumer protection law, including influencer marketing, claim substantiation, and auto-renewal requirements.

Lauren’s approach is practical and business-focused, with the goal of achieving solutions that drive business goals while mitigating legal risk. She enjoys working with clients to identify creative solutions to legal issues, navigating the complex legal and practical implications of product development and data strategy.

Prior to joining ZwillGen, Lauren was an attorney at the National Basketball Association (NBA) where she focused on privacy compliance, marketing, and data strategy. She supported numerous business units on a variety of legal issues, from advising on the privacy implications of data strategy projects to negotiating data processing, vendor, and influencer agreements. She also worked on issues concerning data sharing with sports betting companies. Her experiences in that role have given her unique insight into the evolving role of data in the sports and entertainment space.

Before joining the NBA, Lauren practiced at Kelley Drye & Warren LLP. She holds a J.D. and B.A. from Duke University, as well as a Master of Mass Communication from Louisiana State University.
